Newest branch of Queenstown Health opening in Five Mile
Queenstown Health, one of region’s longest established healthcare practices is opening a brand new facility in Five Mile shopping centre, Frankton. Opening on Monday 10th October 2016, the purpose-built practice will house chiropractic, physiotherapy, acupuncture and sports massage services.
The family-based practice has been operating since 1983 and cares for some of the district’s most successful sports teams and individuals. Chiropractor Dr. Neki Patel has run the practice for 23 years.
“We focus on working as a team, integrating a range of services and keeping a huge base of specialist referral sources so that our patients can get what they need, fast,” said Dr. Patel.
“We support and care for sports teams and individuals competing on regional, national and international levels. From the local Rovers football team and the Birgel cup winning ice hockey team Skycity Stampede, to top PGA golfing stars and the All Blacks.
“We’re here for everybody in the community and focus on offering a very patient-orientated clinic,” he said.
Dr. Patel has worked at the PGA of Australia tournaments for over 20 years and it’s there he first hatched the idea to integrate a wide range of services under one roof.
“Chiropractors, physios and masseuses would all work together under one roof. We’d treat up to 160 people in one room and had a very open policy. It was so easy to refer a patient to the specialist standing next to you and offer a truly holistic service.
“So I thought: Why can’t we do this for the public too?”
The new Five Mile location will follow the same approach, with professionals working together to best help their patients. Next door, a female doctor and a nurse will operate Mountain Lakes Medical Practice.
Queenstown Health will continue to operate from its current Gorge Road site, but will close its office at the Queenstown Events Centre.
“I think we’ve outgrown the Events Centre space now and the new location at Five Mile, above ANZ, will be more convenient for our patients living in Shotover Country and Lake Hayes Estate,” said Dr. Patel.
