The NZ College of Midwives has today received the very sad news that our beloved Kaumatua, Mina Timutimu has passed away after a short illness.
We extend our sincere condolences to Mina’s family.
Mina’s contribution to midwifery in New Zealand and to the health and welfare of families in her community was inestimable. She was a major source of knowledge and strength to the College and will be greatly missed.
Her work for the nation was recognised earlier this year when she was named a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM). College representatives will be attending Mina’s tangi which is at Tauarau Marae, Main Road, Ruatoki, on Thursday 8th December.
