VTANZ Respond to Government ecig announcement
The Vaping Trade Association of New Zealand (VTANZ) has welcomed the announcement made by Associate Health Minster Nicky Wagner this morning as a “step in the right direction.”
“A revolution is occurring in the New Zealand with a growing number of smokers looking to switch to e-cigarettes to reduce the health and financial burden associated with cigarette smoking” said Lawrence Coe, president of VTANZ
“A key part of the VTANZ organization is to work with regulators to develop a progressive and common-sense approach to any regulatory framework… …The announcement made this morning by Ms Wagner is certainly a step in the right direction and we will be happy to engage with the governments advisory group to consult on product safety regulations” said Mr Coe
VTANZ represents 12 of New Zealand's largest e-cig vendors and are currently processing five applications of other vendors to join. Formed last year as a response to the lack of regulations around vaping, VTANZ created our own voluntary set of regulations which all our members must abide by.
