International Therapy Centre - Napa Centre Is Now Hosting A Pop-up Clinic In Porirua, Wellington, New Zealand

NAPA Centre, a leading international provider of innovative paediatric therapy, with 10 locations across the world, is currently running a special pop-up clinic at the Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua, Wellington, New Zealand. The pop-up commenced on Monday and will run through until August 29, 2025. This event will finally introduce the Wellington community to NAPA's world-class, individualised therapy programs designed to empower children with developmental challenges to reach their full potential.

After opening more than 17 years ago in Los Angeles, the NAPA Centre (which stands for Neurological and Physical Abilitation Centre) has become renowned for its holistic approach to therapy, incorporating evidence-based interventions and an integrative model that combines intensive therapies, cutting-edge technology, and multidisciplinary care. The pop-up clinic will feature NAPA’s flagship programs such as Intensive Therapy Programs, Neurological Rehabilitation, and Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), designed to address a wide range of conditions including cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, brain injuries, and other neurological disorders.

“We’re thrilled to bring the NAPA experience to New Zealand,” says Paul Pozzobon, Managing Director of NAPA Centre Australia. “Our approach goes beyond the traditional therapy model. By focusing on functional outcomes and using a combination of therapy, exercise, and leading interventions from across the world, we’re able to offer children and families life-changing results. Our expert team will work closely with each child to create personalised treatment plans that are engaging and effective, and most importantly - fun.”

NAPA’s unique approach combines physical, occupational, and speech and feeding therapy, alongside a variety of cutting-edge techniques including Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), strength training, TASES/E-stim and specialised sensory equipment to maximise progress. Parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to attend consultations and learn more about how the NAPA Centre’s customised programs can enhance the lives of children with neurological and developmental conditions.

Until now, New Zealand families have had to travel to Australia for this specialised service. The pop up session in Wellington is fully booked out due to overwhelming demand from locals who responded immediately as soon as the pop-up was announced

There is still opportunity for local families to get involved. The NAPA team will be hosting a FREE OPEN DAY on Saturday 23rd August for families, therapists or anyone interested in learning more about their services. Local families that are interested in NAPA services can book in for a free 30- minute discovery session where they will be partnered with one of the NAPA therapists for a session to learn all about their child and discuss whether NAPA would be a good fit for them. There will also be local NZ paediatric disability equipment specialists at the Open Day including Allied Medical, Link Assistive and Medifab, so families can come along and meet with these suppliers and check out the very latest in equipment and mobility aids. The NAPA Open Day is proudly presented in association with local charity the Āhuru Mōwai Trust.

The Āhuru Mōwai Trust have been instrumental in their support of the NAPA Wellington pop-up and are not only financially contributing, but will also be providing much needed equipment for the children to use during the intensive. Paul Latham from the Trust said: “When we heard that NAPA was thinking about coming to New Zealand, we wanted to make sure we did everything we could to encourage them to make Wellington their temporary home. We are delighted to be working with this incredible team to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime experience to local families without the need to head across the ditch.”

Registration has closed for the Wellington pop-up, however NAPA encourages families to reach out if they would like to be on the last-minute waiting list or would like to schedule an evaluation or assessment during the pop-up clinic. NAPA also encourages all families to come along to the OPEN DAY and book a free Discovery session for their child. Discovery sessions can be booked by completing this form: bit.ly/4nvrfRQ
