InformationNZ Expands Free Measles Vaccination Outreach To Wainuiomata Following Naenae Success

Following the strong community turnout and positive feedback from its recent measles vaccination clinic in Stokes Valley and Naenae, InformationNZ is proud to announce its next clinic will be held in Wainuiomata this weekend.

The Stokes Valley and Naenae clinics saw families and communities come together in a welcoming, culturally grounded environment to protect their whānau and build collective wellbeing. Many attendees received not only the measles vaccine, but also other important immunisations including flu, COVID-19 Boostrix, and whooping cough—demonstrating the value of integrated, community-based care.

Building on that momentum, InformationNZ is continuing its commitment to equitable, community-led outreach by bringing free measles vaccinations directly to Wainuiomata.

Measles is still present in our communities, with six active cases confirmed in the Wellington region. Given how highly contagious the virus is—and how quickly it can spread—InformationNZ is supporting the Government’s efforts to eliminate measles by standing up trusted, community-based vaccination clinics.

Independent providers such as InformationNZ can help bridge gaps in service delivery and play a vital role in supporting the achievement of national immunisation health targets.

“We’re seeing real trust and engagement when services are delivered in familiar, supportive spaces,” says Muliagatele Bella Bartley, CEO of InformationNZ. “Our approach centres Pacific, Māori, and wider communities—ensuring everyone has the opportunity to protect their health with confidence and dignity.”
