Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tonight.

For Northland: Rain at times. A few heavy falls this morning, especially along the east coast.

Auckland and Coromandel Peninsula: Mainly cloudy with a few showers

In the west from Waikato to Manawatu also for Bay of Plenty and the central plateau: A mix of cloud and fine periods. A few showers about and east of the Kaimai ranges.

From Gisborne to Wairarapa, also for Wellington: Light showers becoming confined to northern Gisborne this morning. Further south skies slowly clearing.

Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury: Fine and frosty.

West of the South Island: Fine weather continuing in most places. From afternoon, an increase in cloud about the fiords with showers developing.

Otago and Southland: Fine and frosty in most areas. Some coastal cloudiness likely later.

Chatham Islands: Showers becoming less frequent this morning.
