Intelligence: Kiwi Former MI6 Spy Suspected Of New Agent Names Leak New Zealander and former British MI6 operative, Richard Tomlinson, was taken in for questioning by French DST agents on June 29 on suspicions that he was behind further leaks of MI6 agent names. MI6 and Tomlinson have been struggling within a legal-labyrinth since Tomlinson was sacked by the spy agency in 1995. He was arrested in 1997 under the British Official Secrets Act, and served time in prison accused of placing lists of MI6 officers on websites. See... Video & Text: Brit MP Advances Investigation Into David Kelly's Death - David Kelly was an employee of the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence (MoD), an expert in biological warfare, and a former United Nations weapons inspector in Iraq. His talk with a journalist about the British government's dossier on weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq inadvertently caused a major political scandal, and he was found dead days after appearing before a Parliamentary committee investigating it. The Hutton Inquiry, a public inquiry into his death, ruled that he had committed suicide. Now a British LibDem MP Norman Baker is two months into a private, year-long investigation into the suspicious death.

Korean Missile Launch: UN Council Members Agree Swift Action Needed - Expressing “deep concern” over missile launches by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), members of the United Nations Security Council agreed this morning that quick action is needed to deal with the matter, during a closed meeting requested by Japan and the United States. “All members have expressed deep concern after the launching of this ballistic missile by North Korea,” Ambassador Jean-Marc de la Sablière of France, which holds the Council presidency for the month of July, told reporters following the consultations of the 15-member body. France-Oceania Summit Formalises Thawing Of France-Pacific Relations - The second edition of a France-Oceania summit, held on Monday in the French capital under the chairmanship of French President Jacques Chirac, has been regarded as heralding a new era in the relationships between France, the Pacific islands and two of its largest countries, Australia and New Zealand. Occupied Palestine: Gaza Under Attack Again - I am writing while the jet fighters are in the sky with their horrible sounds, bringing death and horror. It is 10:30 pm and I am still waiting, like everyone. I hope they will not go ahead with their operation into Gaza; the outcome could be horrible. The resistance movements are going ahead with their preparations too, but it is obvious which side holds the balance of power. Anyway, Israel - resistance or no resistance - is attacking us all the time, but this time will be different, and in the process many civilian lives will be lost. I am listening to the local radio.
