A suspicious package near Parliament on Bowen Street caused the Beehive and Bowen House to be evacuated this afternoon. Police diverted traffic away from Bowen Street while the bomb squad assembled robot, dogs and padded suits on Parliament's forecourt.
A controlled explosion has been carried out and workers have been allowed to return to the building.
The package was found to be "a suitcase containing clothing and personal items".
