Peters Challenged To Debate ‘Aliens’ Comments
NZ First leader Winston Peters is being
challenged by Progressive Coalition leader Jim Anderton to
defend his extremist views on immigration in a debate in
South Auckland at a venue of his choosing.
Jim Anderton has written to Mr Peters today, saying,
I have read with rising concern your comments about immigrants to New Zealand. I believe it is wrong to label immigrants ‘alien’.Every New Zealander is descended from immigrants, one way or another. Politicians who aspire to do more for their country should not base their careers on fostering fear and hate.
I challenge you to defend your extremist views in a public debate with me before the election.
I invite you to select a venue of your choosing in South Auckland and to bring as many supporters you wish.
