Iran's nuclear facilities and global WMD disarmament
Iran is to be congratulated on reaching
agreement for inspection of its nuclear facilities by the
International Atomic Energy Agency, former Minister for
Disarmament, Matt Robson said today.
"It has managed to retain its sovereign self-respect while meetings its international obligations to the IAEA.
"By this step, it has pulled the rug out from under those who wish to replicate the inexcusable beat-up over Iraq and WMD.
"Iranian sovereignty must be respected if international law is to be upheld.
"Now it is time for all nuclear armed countries which have pointed the finger at Iran to announce to the world practical steps they are taking to meet their obligations to take real steps toward nuclear disarmament," Matt Robson said.
