Progressive Party Hints At Zimbabwe Solution

Progressive Party Hints At Zimbabwe Solution

Progressive Party Leader Jim Anderton ponders Zimbabwe at the Progressive National Executive meeting in Wellington.

Statement on behalf of Grant Gillon, the President of the Progressive Party.

"Election policies and the party list process were signed off today at the Progressive National Executive meeting in Wellington.

"The Party has already announced 30 candidates and remains on target to select candidates for each electorate in New Zealand.

"The issue of human rights abuses in Zimbabwe was discussed and the leader, Jim Anderton is now writing to all Parliamentary Party leaders proposing a way forward that will allow New Zealanders to stand proud of our Parliament's commitment to human rights.

"As the only stable junior coalition partner party in Parliament for the last 6 years, we will be campaigning particularly hard on turning the tide against youth binge drinking; reducing student debt; and helping low income families into their first home," Grant Gillon said.
