Dunne's asset sales policy will interest Dr Brash
United Future's Election policy commitment, to sell 40% of Kiwibank, NZ Post, Air NZ and all other remaining strategic national asset seats, will be of great interest to National, says Progressive MP Matt Robson.
"It is reported that the United and National leaders are meeting shortly in a show of potential coalition harmony.
"The United Future policy that will most interest Dr. Brash is its commitment to hock-off 40% of the country's remaining national assets that weren't hocked off by the Labour and National ministries Mr. Dunne belonged to in 1990 and 1995.
"National's massive overseas debt-financed income tax cut policies will need to be supplemented by higher user pays in education and health, and cuts to National Super.
"United's asset sales programme would also come in handy to a National-led coalition looking to raise a bit of cash to help offset its overseas borrowing programme.
"New Zealanders have the right to know, before the election, how Mr Dunne and Dr Brash's talks go and precisely which national assets they'd sell first and when," Matt Robson said.
