Labour's
encouragement of State Owned Enterprises to invest in areas
outside their core business is a tragic policy, says ACT
Leader Rodney Hide.
"SOEs have made some terrible investment decisions in the past", Mr Hide said.
"They lack the financial discipline that shareholders bring to private companies, and inevitably end up mixing economic and political goals.
"Businesses and consumers need tax cuts, lower compliance costs and less government.
"Labour should focus on governing, and let businesspeople run their businesses", Mr Hide said.
