Anderton a fraud on microchipping
National Party Agriculture spokesman David Carter says Agriculture Minister Jim Anderton has shown himself to be an absolute fraud when it comes to representing the interests of the rural community.
"Mr Anderton is a lion while speaking to farmers, and a lapdog in front of his Labour mates.
"He demonstrated to all farmers how out of touch he is with their concerns when he confirmed today in Parliament that he still did not support the amendment to exempt working dogs from microchipping.
"Mr Anderton says he took Federated Farmers concerns to Cabinet. Clearly, he can't have argued for it at all, because he never supported a change in the first place," says Mr Carter.
"On this matter he is a fraud."
