Dunne agrees with Key on Rickards
UnitedFuture leader Peter Dunne is backing calls by National leader John Key for Assistant Police Commissioner Clint Rickards to be forced to resign.
“The Police simply cannot move forward while the spectre of Mr Rickards returning to service remains.
“Moreover, the public are coming to judge the Police’s commitment to change in the wake of the damning Bazley report by the speed and decisiveness with which the Police act on Mr Rickards.
“I have no doubt that the government and the overwhelming majority of MPs from all around the House, let alone the vast majority of New Zealanders, are of a similar view – the sooner Mr Rickards goes, the better for the credibility of the Police,” he says.
