Dunne pleased with Anderson appointment
Ohariu-Belmont MP Peter Dunne is pleased with the Government’s appointment of Sir John Anderson as the new chairman of Capital and Coast District Health Board, but reserves judgement on whether this will be the final act in resolving the DHB’s difficulties.
“Sir John has a tremendous track record in running businesses and helping out organisations in trouble,” he said.
“But this is an organisation that clearly has management problems and the new structure gives me little confidence that all will be resolved soon, since we now have a Board, a monitor and a new chair, while retaining the previous chair and deputy chair on the Board.
“I wish Sir John and his colleagues well, but I still incline to the view that appointing a Commissioner with sole control of the DHB may yet be the best answer.
“Perhaps that will be Sir John’s next role,” said Mr Dunne.
