MANA Repulsed At Govt Abuse of Students
MANA education spokesperson John Minto says the government should listen to University Students, not bully and threaten them.

He says tertiary education minister Anne Tolley’s threatening of University Students to 'keep their heads down' as a response to their legitimate concerns over rising fees and Voluntary Student Membership is patronising and counterproductive..
"Rather than bully the students, Steven Joyce should join me in listening to their genuine concerns at how amputating student membership will impact their quality of education. The VSM bill aims to weaken and undermine student opposition to government tertiary education policies.
“The Minister seems to want to do to university students what he is doing to Len Browns electrified rail loop, underfund them and smoother them all in motorway concrete.
“Let's not forget, the decision to vandalize students representation was a favour to the ACT Party, and another example of the far right tail wagging John Key's dog of a Government.”
John Minto says Mana is delighted to see large numbers of students taking direct action to defend their voice in the community while National does its best to throttle them.
