Vodafone does the right thing for
parents
“Vodafone has done the right thing by supporting parents in their workforce, in a way that the National Government has refused to do,” Labour's spokesperson for Women's Affairs Sue Moroney says.
“Vodafone's announcement of six months’ paid parental leave for its employees is more evidence of the strong support for Labour's efforts to extend paid parental leave.
“Unfortunately, this sensible measure won't be extended to other New Zealand families because the National Government have opposed it at every step of the way.”
“The persistent political games played by National during the three years my Member’s Bill was before Parliament shows its contempt for working families and all other New Zealanders who want children to get the best start in life,” Sue Moroney says.
