Electronic Monitoring of Offenders Legislation Bill – call for submissions
Public submissions are being called for on the Electronic Monitoring of Offenders Legislation Bill. The bill, currently before the Law and Order Committee, proposes to removes legislative barriers to the electronic monitoring of offenders released from a sentence of imprisonment of 2 years or less; and offenders sentenced to intensive supervision.
The closing date for submissions is Thursday, 30 July 2015.
The bill can be viewed online at www.legislation.govt.nz or purchased at any Bennetts Government Bookshop. Wellington residents can contact the bookshop by emailing gbs@bennetts.co.nz.
Submissions should be forwarded by the due date, either online using our website (www.parliament.nz) or in writing to the address below. If a submitter wishes to appear before the committee, they need to state this clearly and provide a name, daytime phone number and email address. Submissions generally become public and are published on our website.
