Prime Minister hiding from his sell-out of New
Zealand
John Key’s refusal today to answer
questions on his own pledge that New Zealanders must not
become “tenants in their own land” shows his arrogant
disregard for his sell-out of New Zealand, Opposition Leader
Andrew Little says.
“John Key is afraid to front up to his record of selling land into overseas ownership.
“Today he would have been asked in Parliament why his Government has not refused a single application by a foreign buyer of our land under the Overseas Investment Act since 2011.
“He refused to answer the question, transferring it instead to a Minister. This is a Prime Minister who is unwilling to be honest and upfront about issues that matter to New Zealanders.
“What is Key afraid of? Is he afraid to admit that he’s been rubber-stamping the sale of prime productive New Zealand land into overseas ownership?
“Is he afraid to admit that if he forces Landcorp to sell farms, those might be sold overseas, too?
“Key needs to
come clean about his failure to honour his promise that
Kiwis wouldn’t be tenants in their own country,” Andrew
Little says.
