Protect South Dunedin meeting 6pm tonight
A public meeting will be held tonight to provide those affected by the 2015 June floods their first chance to express concerns and ask questions.
The meeting, organised by Dunedin South MP Clare Curran aims to set up a South Dunedin Protection Group to act as a community voice.
The June 20-15 floods impacted on thousands of residents and businesses, mainly affecting those living in the South Dunedin flat area encompassing South Dunedin, St Kilda, St Clair, Kensington, Tainui and parts of Musselburgh and Caversham.
Speakers at tonight’s meeting include Clare Curran, retired Dunedin City surveyor Bruce Hendry, semi-retired Dunedin engineer Neil Johnstone, Bathgate Park principal Whetu Cormick, a resident of South Dunedin/St Kilda and business owners.
