The Sale and Supply of Alcohol (Display of Low-alcohol Beverages and Other Remedial Matters) Amendment Bill
A new bill about the sale and supply of alcohol is being considered by a Parliamentary select committee.
The bill intends to change the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 to:
• allow low and non-alcoholic drinks to be displayed for sale in the same “single-area” as beer and wine in supermarkets, and
• clarify that any company can hold a licence under the Act.
Parliament’s Justice and Electoral Committee is now accepting public submissions on the bill. Committee chairperson, Jacqui Dean MP, said that “the proposed changes are small but important. We’re interested in hearing what New Zealanders have to say about them.”
Tell the Justice and Electoral Committee what you think.
Send your submission on the Sale and Supply of Alcohol (Display of Low-alcohol Beverages and Other Remedial Matters) Amendment Bill bymidnight on 9 June 2016.
