Statement From Sylvia Wood, National Party President
09 August
This evening I was advised by National Party Leader Christopher Luxon that Sam Uffindell MP would be stood down from Caucus pending an investigation into further allegations about his past behaviour raised in the media.
The investigation will be conducted by Maria Dew QC and is expected to take two weeks. As the Party only became aware of these allegations this evening, the details of the investigation will be finalised over the next few days, including the terms of reference.
In the interests of letting due process run its course, I will not be making additional comment on this issue while the investigation is carried out.
