Liberty Loses Virginity

Hard on the heels of Te Papa’s celebrated Virgin in a Condom, Liberty in a Condom will be on display in Parliament’s forecourt for the duration of this weekend’s ‘Building the Constitution’ conference.

“Unlike the prophylactically shrouded Madonna, the emasculated Liberty has a real meaning,” says Libertarianz Leader Peter Cresswell. “Our liberty is under threat of permanent extinction - this constitutional hooey we are highlighting could be the last step in that process of strangulation.”

“There are things that should be constitutionally placed beyond any vote,” Cresswell, a Conference Observer points out. “These things include rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of property and happiness. But these things are emphatically not what is on the agenda at this ‘Building the Constitution’ conference.”

“Instead I fear I may well bear witness to what remains of our liberty being swamped by the mawkish cultural relativism of the Treaty gravy train.”

It is time to wake up New Zealand!
