Fathers Protest In Wellington
4 June 2001
"FARE members and supporters will be staging a small demonstration at 12:00 on Tuesday 5 June, outside Whitcoulls in Lambton Quay, Wellington, to collect signatures in support of Dr Muriel Newman's Shared Parenting Bill", spokesperson Darryl Ward announced today.
"The Bill will be resubmitted to Parliament this month, and is now called The Guardianship (Shared Parenting) Amendment Bill. The new Bill takes the provisions of the Shared Parenting Bill and places them within the framework of the Guardianship Act.
"The protest site has been selected to draw attention to the June issue of North and South Magazine, which exposes the serious problems with family law in New Zealand. The magazine is on sale at Whitcoulls and all other good booksellers", Ward concluded.
