ALRANZ: Right To Life Preaches Sectarian
"Morality"
"Right to Life New Zealand cannot seem to
stick to the issues of abortion and euthanasia that its ilk
are traditionally obsessed with" Craig Young, ALRANZ
Research Officer, noted today.
"Leaving aside their
remarks on the legal recognition of same-sex relationships,
Right to Life makes some very objectionable comments about
the legal enforcement of sectarian religious values on those
who do not share them." Mr.Young commented.
"Thankfully,
there are decent mainline Protestant (and dissident
Catholic) Christians, Jews, humanists and others who do
recognise that women should have a right to control their
own reproductive bodies amongst other issues of social
justice, democratic ethics and humane moral values. It is
arrogant and sectarian to claim that one religious or
philosophical group has the right to impose its views on
those who regard those values as destructive and
inhumane."
"Get back on issue, Messrs Coleman and Orr.
ALRANZ is still waiting."
