Picnic With Attitude - Bring Yer Granny!?
All people opposed to terrorism and violence are invited to attend the Peace Picnic at the Botanic Gardens this Sunday, 30 September. This is an opportunity for people to get together in a friendly environment in support of peace.
"Sunday's picnic will provide a relaxed social atmosphere where people can gather together against all terrorism, whether it's by or against the US." said Rosie McLeod, a Peace Movement Dunedin participant.
While the latest acts of terrorism are saddening; public concern about further violence is increasing. "Retribution is no solution" said Rosie McLeod.
A message board will be provided for people to attach their personal expressions and ideas about world-wide terrorism and war. Bring pictures, poems, letters, articles etc…
Peace Movement Dunedin is an evolving grass-roots organisation including people from community, environmental and political groups, unions, and churches.
Picnic for Peace from 2pm this and every Sunday, in front the bandstand beside the duck-pond. Bring your own picnic food and inspiration.
