Student Debt Bomb Campaign Launch
Julie Pettett, President of the Aotearoa Tertiary Students' Association (ATSA), will launch ATSA's "Student Debt Bomb Campaign" at ATSA's National Conference in Palmerston North this Friday.
The campaign launch will include the release of ATSA's 2002 Position Paper "Tertiary Education: Issues and Solutions", copies of which will be available to the media on the day.
The launch of the Student Debt Bomb Campaign will follow directly on from the "ATSA Soapbox" at which representatives from major political parties will talk about their tertiary education policies and take questions from ATSA students.
Photo op Friday 5 July, Atrium Building, UCOL, Palmerston North: 10.30am: "ATSA Soapbox" - Spokespeople for major political parties will talk about their tertiary education policies and take questions. 12 noon: 80 ATSA students will launch the Student Debt Bomb Campaign by releasing 200 helium balloons to symbolise student debt 'going sky high'.
