Iceberg Policies Mean Management Not Representation

Miss Chris Webster, independent candidate for the electorate of Te Tai Tonga will campaign against ‘iceberg policies’, lobby to reduce Maori unemployment, fight to keep the moratorium on commercial GM releases, and encourage decision- makers to elect her to Parliament.

Miss Webster says she is standing because the iceberg policies being promoted by Labour will mean that Maori will end up being politically managed and not effectively represented.

“I deplore at the mediocrity of the representation of the incumbent Maori MPs.

She says being an electorate MP carries the ultimate responsibility – that is to the people.

“These elections are about our future and based on the performance of our Maori MPs, I do not want them to influence or construct our future.

“As an independent MP I will deliver, I will be accountable. I am able to influence policy decisions because I have a wide knowledge portfolio and other transferable skills, and in doing so will be truly able to represent Te Tai Tonga, the largest electorate in the country.
