Minister of Health to be congratulated
The Catholic Women’s League congratulates the Minister of Health over her decision in the ‘porn baby’ affair.
Annette King has reflected the queasy feelings of many New Zealanders over the proposed inclusion in a pornographic movie of what should be a natural and joyous event.
More than that, she has signalled that there are other rights at issue here – the right of medical staff not to be compromised while carrying out their duties and - above all - the rights of the child yet to be born not to have the porn baby stigma imposed on it from birth. What kind of a start in life would that be?
