Last Chance
LAST CHANCE
The Otago STV Action Group looks forward to handing in the STV Poll Petition on its deadline at the end of this week (Fri 13 Dec).
Earlier this year the Dunedin City Council rejected Single Transferable Voting despite public consultation being in favour of STV. The only way Dunedin people will have the choice of adopting STV is by 4200 Dunedin voters signing the STV Poll Petition, which demands the DCC hold a binding pubic referendum on STV. The next two days are the public’s last chance to sign the petition.
The petition can be signed at the Otago University Students’ Association office (opposite the Museum on Cumberland St.), the Dunedin Environment Centre (Moray Pl.), Outré (Lower Stuart St.), or at the Rovers Return pub in Caversham. It is planned to have collectors in the central city and in south Dunedin during the week, and outside the Dunedin Public Library this Friday. It can also be electronically downloaded from http:// http://www.stvpetition.cjb.net.
Otago STV Action Group
would like to remind everyone who currently has STV
petitions with signatures that they need to be handed to
OUSA by tomorrow (Thursday, 12 Dec), or directly to the DCC
this Friday (13 Dec). OSAG would like to thank all of its
volunteers, members of the public, and organisations that
have helped with the
petition.
