Congratulations Mr Howard!
Congratulations Mr Howard!
“Mr Howard’s position on war with Iraq is far more tenable than Helen Clark’s or the Green Party’s. What is the point of indicating a commitment to deal with terrorism and then not have the gumption to deal with substantiated grave threats to world peace?” asked Party Leader Graham Capill.
“Mr Howard has taken his duty to protect Australian citizens seriously and has acted with principle and courage.
“Bush, Blair and Howard have recognised that France has a vested interest in Iraq, while Germany inadvertently gave Iraq its chemical weapons technology. There is a duplicity in suggesting that the USA has vested interests in war while these other countries have none. Their peace overtures have a rather hollow ring.
“In contrast, the NZ PM has vacillated, starting out by denying NZ has enemies in the Pacific, to now trying to take a strong stand against terrorism but still being unwilling to properly protect NZ citizens.
“When will someone hold Helen Clark and her Government responsible for dismantling the combat wing of the NZRAF at this particular time in world vulnerability?
“While the CHP does not have all the
evidence, it would appear war in Iraq cannot be
circumvented. At the very least, Mr Howard has been
consistent in the battle against terrorism – and for that he
should be congratulated!” concluded Mr
Capill
