War on Drugs - Ban the Christians!
War on Drugs
Ban the Christians!
"'Archbishop' Peter Dunne - 'the saviour of our young people' - accuses the
Greens of being irresponsible for not playing ball over the
re-classification of methamphetamine," notes Libertarianz Spokesman Russell
Watkins, "but is seemingly oblivious to the fact that the War on Drugs is
itself one reason for the increase in drug use."
"What's totally irresponsible," says Watkins, "is people like Dunne
advocating laws that make these drugs so financially attractive to drug
dealers. Every time new measures against drugs are announced, drug suppliers
celebrate," explained Watkins, "because the new measures simply act to raise
the price of the drugs, and hence their attractiveness to suppliers."
In conclusion, Watkins notes that Dunne trots out the hoary old line that '
...this drug has quite literally fuelled murderous rampages, suicides and
the destruction of young lives,' etc. "This may or may not be true," says
Watkins, "but it is certainly true however that various Christian nutters
have committed exactly these crimes under the illusion that 'God told me to
do it.' I look forward now to hearing Dunne call for a ban on the Christian
faith," says Watkins, "surely the most dangerous reality-detachment drug of
all."
