Soldiers Injured In Waiouru
Three soldiers were evacuated to Palmerston North hospital today after sustaining injuries at the Army’s Waiouru training area while participating in routine military training.
The accident happened at 5pm. The three injured soldiers were quickly assessed and transported to the Waiouru Military Hospital. All three soldiers have now been transferred to the Palmerston North Hospital, one travelling by RNZAF Helicopter. Their injuries are not life threatening.
No one else was
injured.
The New Zealand Army is investigating. Once
further information about the accident is gathered, a
further statement will be
released.
