PRESS RELEASE
NZ Muslims Condemn Israel’s Attack on Syria
The Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand, representing the New Zealand Muslim community, strongly condemns the recent Israeli air attacks on Syrian territory. While the Federation does in no way condone the Haifa suicide attack, it views such Israeli attacks as an unacceptable violation of international law and rules and flagrant aggression and a violation of Syria's territorial integrity.
The Federation, deeply concerned at this deplorable act by Israel, calls upon the New Zealand government and all world leaders to condemn this attack by Israel and dissuade Israel from carrying out such counterproductive attacks in the future. Such attacks are bound to have a deleterious effect on the on-going Middle East peace process.
