On Their Way To The Final – Thanks To Lotto

Up to 100 lucky Kiwis are on the way to the World Cup Final – thanks to Lotto and One Sport.

Several great rugby fans have already won their way to the Final and are very excited by the prospect. Renee Matthews of Wanganui is taking her partner, Andrew Cooper, who is “totally rugby mad”. “He was over the moon,” she said. “He keeps ringing me at work to check it’s actually real!”

Te Ake Makino Kingi of Auckland reported that his wife Ruth is especially rapt because she’s never been out of New Zealand before. And Raewyn and Martin Fryer of Napier are planning a second honeymoon.

The three-week promotion offering two tickets to the Final for each of 50 voucher holders finished last weekend. There are still a few vouchers outstanding and the New Zealand Lotteries Commission (NZLC) is encouraging players to check their vouchers.

“We would love to give away all these prizes so as many Kiwis as possible will be at the Final on 22 November to cheer the All Blacks to victory,” said NZLC Chief Executive Trevor Hall.

The final date for claiming these very special prizes – return fares to Sydney, four days in Sydney with four-star accommodation, tickets to the Final and $500 spending money - is Friday 7 November.

If any prize is unclaimed after 5 pm on that date, the prize may be substituted for another trip for two to a sporting event of the same or lesser value, to be taken within 12 months of the draw. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. If a prize is not claimed within 12 months, the monetary value will be returned to NZLC’s prize reserve account for redistribution to prize pools. Whatever happens, this money will be used to pay players of our games.

“If anyone has a voucher lying around they should take it into their local Lotto store or send it to us for checking,” Trevor Hall said. “You never know, it could send you and a friend all the way to the Final.”
