NZDA Appauled At Illegal Wallaby Release
“New Zealand Deerstalkers’ Association Inc (NZDA) condemns the release of wallabies in the Lindis Pass in Central Otago,” announced Trevor Dyke, National President, today.
“The NZDA and its member hunters and indeed the vast majority of the public hunting sector at large are responsible people and do believe in taking a responsible attitude in debating issues.”
“We see an irresponsible group of hunters ‘trying to get even’ with DOC”
Dyke went on to say “ NZDA
enjoys a very good relationship with the Department of
Conservation on all levels and stupid actions such as this
do nothing for the hunting as it could result in the
Department carrying out extra poisoning operations which
will not only take out the wallaby, but other game species
through the
bi-kill.”
