Re; Goods And Services Tax (Exclusion Of Rates) Amendment Bill
Grey Power Federation NZ Inc are thrilled that the above bill has been drawn from the ballot of private Member's Bills.
Mr Don Chapman, the chairman of the Grey Power Local Bodies Portfolio states, "Rates place a heavy burdon on many elderly, even forcing some to defer them until after their deaths. Most have worked hard to be debt free and having to accept additional debt is very worrying. Accordingly, we have been lobbying towards the above for many years, and are hopeful of a positive result."
