Response to media release from Service & Food Workers Union re rest home poster removal
The Vincentian Home & Hospital has a multicultural workforce; Maori, Philippine, Indian, Pacific Island and European. The poster was removed as it was in a language not understood by all staff.
The issue is far more complex than just the poster.
Please recognise we are in the early phases of negotiation over wage talks and we believe this is a ploy by the union associated with that process.
It is inappropriate to litigate internal staffing matters in the news media as this would pre-empt a mediation process.
