“United Future Endorses Maori Party Candidates”
Murray Smith, Maori Affairs Spokesman for United Future urged those on the Maori role to vote for Maori Party candidates at a political forum in Wellington last week.
Maru Samuel, Destiny New Zealand candidate for Te Tai Tonga, said that he was startled by United Future’s endorsement of Maori Party candidates.
“I naturally thought United Future would have endorsed a party like Destiny New Zealand that embodies traditional family values. Destiny New Zealand’s foundational policy is the family and we are standing 43 candidates nationwide, including all 7 Maori electorates – all of whom are 100 percent committed to strengthening families,” said Mr Samuel.
Destiny New Zealand’s campaign message is to protect, empower and prosper New Zealand families. While the policies are wide ranging, the focus is on the family.
“Our primary focus in the Maori electorates is not the foreshore and seabed, although that is important. Our aim is to empower the intergenerational family,” he added.
