National's brilliant idea? – privatise water!

Grant Gillon, Progressive Party President
So this is National's brilliant idea? – privatise water!
National's promise today that a government it leads will introduce tradable water rights means the party still hasn't given up on his plans to privatize water, says Progressive Party President Grant Gillon.
"People should be very careful when interpreting National's rhetoric about 'improving the incentives for efficient and flexible water use'," he said.
" National is just signaling is that if its leads a coalition government then it will privatize the water supply just as the last National- NZ First government sold the central government's shareholding in Auckland Airport in the name of flexibility and efficiency.
"Why doesn't the party just honestly spell out clearly what its policies mean in ordinary language that every one can understand before they actually cast their votes?" Grant Gillon said.
"Because National knows hardly anyone would vote for the party if they actually knew what its policies entail," he said.
