Party Conference and Campaign Launch This Weekend

‘Democrats for Social Credit’ delegates from around New Zealand will gather in Wellington at the James Cook Hotel this weekend to launch the Party’s election campaign and to attend the annual conference.

Party Leader Stephnie de Ruyter said that the weekend was a special one for Party members.

“Candidates and party activists will be promoting social credit on the hustings under our own banner for the first time since 1990” she said.

Formed as the Social Credit Political League in 1953, the Party first campaigned in the 1954 election and has endured as a sovereign political entity for the full span of its fifty-two years. During that time, voter support has secured parliamentary representation for the Party on several occasions since the 1960s.

“We have changed our name, but not our vision. We offer fresh ideas for a better New Zealand” said Ms de Ruyter.

“This Party stands for economic and social justice. Through monetary reform we can scrap the student loan scheme, publicly fund health, abolish GST and introduce the Community Credit Programme to fund infrastructure.

“We look forward to taking the social credit vision for New Zealand to voters. We can all be richer through reform” she concluded.
