Labour And National Neck And Neck In Muffin Break Bean Poll
With almost 20,000 votes now cast in the Muffin Break Bean Poll, the two major parties are neck and neck.
Labour is on 33.3%, giving it a tiny lead over National which is on 33%. The Greens are in third place with 12.2% while New Zealand First is fourth with 10.6%. The remaining 10.9% is split between the "other" parties.
The Bean Poll allows customers at the 36 Muffin Break stores nationwide to vote - via coffee bean - for their preferred party.
In 2002, more than 65,000 people voted in the Muffin Break Bean Poll and the final tally closely mirrored the results on election night.
Weekly results are being posted on www.muffinbreak.co.nz
