NZ Seafood Industry Welcomes Appointment of New Fisheries Minister

The seafood industry welcomes the appointment of the Hon Jim Anderton as the new Minister of Fisheries says New Zealand Seafood Industry Council Chief Executive Owen Symmans.
“Mr Anderton has already shown that he recognizes the importance of the seafood industry to the New Zealand economy,” he said. “In his role as Minister for Economic Development it was evident that he was very interested in developing the potential of this industry.”
Mr Symmans says the seafood industry is New Zealand’s fifth biggest exporter and a significant employer.
“We look forward to working with Mr Anderton,” Mr Symmans said.
