On The release of Harmeet Sooden and colleagues
Press Release
Thursday March 23 2006
Students for
Justice in Palestine, University of Auckland, are extremely
happy to announce that our fellow student Harmeet Sooden and
his colleagues have been released in Baghdad after being
held hostage for nearly four months.
While we celebrate the safety of Harmeet, Jim Loney and Norman Kember, our deepest sympathies and condolences go to the friends and family of Tom Fox, whose life was taken just a week before the release of his colleagues.
The fact that these men are ardent supporters of the Iraqi people makes the situation all the more tragic. We must remember the plight of those under occupation, be it Iraq, Afghanistan or Palestine.
