"A Promise to be honoured – at last!!"
Grey Power President, Mr Graham Stairmand, notes with some enthusiasm, that the public use of private facilities for elective surgery as promised in the supply and confidence agreement with United future is not empty words as indicated by the recent press release by the Hon Peter Dunne .
"The main health concerns for the elderly centre around getting onto the waiting lists for elective surgery, cataracts, hearing problems and deteriorating hip knee and ankle joints.
Many of our members are currently on the 'phantom waiting list', totally unrecognized by the government, where the patient is shuffled between GP and Specialist until the condition is such that the required points are reached to attain a place on the waiting list. Any move to use private facilities to alleviate these conditions is most welcome" said Mr Stairmand today.
