Latest Taser Death will be recalled on March today

Less than 48 hours ago an inmate of a Colorado jail died after being tasered.

His death will be recalled on the march today where an additional cross will be added to the 197 already prepared and this cross will lead the march.

The original report can be sourced here -

and it says in part -

"A 34-year-old inmate at Arapahoe County's main jail died this morning after deputies used a Taser stun gun to stop him from biting them, Sheriff Grayson Robinson said. The Aurora man, whose name wasn't released pending notification of next of kin, had been in jail for a day on vehicle theft and domestic violence charges".

This latest death once more underlines the lethal nature of tasers whereby at least 198 people have died since their introduction to policing in the US. There is no place for this lethal, torture device in New Zealand.

The march left the Britomart end of Queen Street at 12 noon for Aotea Square.
