UF elects new President
United Future today elected a new President, Aucklander Denise Krum.
Denise has studied politics at Masters level and has a long history in United Future party politics.
She is a board member of the Halogen Foundation, a youth leadership development body connected with primary and secondary schools.
Denise is the mother to two young daughters and is active in community committees, including kindergarten and athletics.
Prior to becoming President, Denise has held the positions of Vice President and Auckland Regional Chairwoman.
"I am delighted to be elected to the position of President, " said Denise. "I have long been committed to the political process as a tangible way to add value to local communities and the country. I have served my apprenticeship in the background and now it is time to get stuck in and promote the United Future message.
"As a centre party not beholden to political ideologies of the past, we have a real chance to offer new solutions to the issues facing New Zealand in the 21st century. My role as President is to continue building a vibrant party organisation that reflects the passion and commitment of the party membership at large."
Denise is joined by former MP Murray Smith of Wellington as party Vice President.
