No Excuse For Drunk Driving!
The AA calls for motorists not to drink and drive this Christmas.
“The number of motorists being caught driving drunk by the Police is quite simply deplorable,” says AA spokesperson Mike Noon.
Mr Noon’s comments follow well over 100 motorists being caught by the Police in recent days in Wellington, Canterbury and the Waikato for drunk driving.
“There is no excuse for driving drunk. Motorists who do so endanger not only themselves but everyone else on the road.”
“Drivers need to plan ahead if they intend to drink at a social function, arrange a sober driver or alternative transport. Never drive drunk and never get in a car with a drunk driver.”
“The AA supports the Police in their efforts to keep our roads safe and urges all motorists to drive responsibly,” says Mr Noon.
