5 Months Since Jayden Was Taken.

Next Week It Will Have Been 5 Months Since Jayden Was Taken

Christmas at the Jones’ home was tinged with sadness. The Jones’ family traditional family Christmas breakfast was held and Jaydens family including 10 first cousins had hoped he could be in attendance for the first time. His step sister Jessie was looking forward to sharing Christmas with Jayden.

Jayden has and continues to miss out on so much. In March we are expecting a new little brother for Jayden. It is an exciting time for our family and Jayden has a right to be involved.

Up until now I have avoided being critical of Jaydens maternal family. After all, it is important that upon his return he maintain a positive relationship with them. However I feel it is now in the interests of Jayden to speak directly to them and their supporters.

The present situation is absurd in the extreme. To you the Skelton and Headley families, you are playing games with Jayden’s life. Surely you must know the psychological and emotional damage you are causing him. Through your actions this past year Jayden has missed almost two terms of school. You have prevented him from leading a normal life. In three weeks Jayden needs to be starting school. You can not allow this situation to continue. No right thinking person knowing the facts of this case could possibly support your actions.

I now want to speak to those who have and continue to assist you in some way.

By now you will know that the Skelton and Headley families have not been honest with you. I am not the bad man they have tried to portray me as. I am just an ordinary kiwi Dad who wants the best for his son. Whatever differences I have had with Jayden’s maternal family over the years should not be used to justify Jayden’s ongoing detention. Jayden has both a mother and father - you are preventing him from having contact with both of them. You must now realize that you have made a very serious mistake in becoming involved in Jayden’s abduction. If there is any ounce of decency in any of you, you will make contact with the police. While I cannot speak on behalf of the police, you may wish to contact them through a lawyer to discuss the possibility of immunity from prosecution in return for information.

While I have no criticism of the efforts of individual police officers involved in the investigation surrounding Jayden’s disappearance, I have mounting concerns about the lack of progress. Presently there are no police officers working actively on this case. Andy BuBear, the officer leading the inquiry, is currently on holiday and two murder inquiries have consumed all police resources and so the police are not actively searching for my son. If Jayden was the child of a politician or a judge I am sure far more effort would be going into this inquiry. I have been reluctant to speak out like this for fear that my concerns may be misinterpreted, but I can not be silent any longer. More needs to be done.
